ROAD TO GOLD ( 40 X 31 1/2 ) : This art creation was inspired by the story of Marco Polo. I was intrigued by the story of the trails and life-threatening experiences they endured as they traveled the Silk Road; determined to get an audience with the Great Kahn and find a better trade route to China. It turned out that it truly was a road to gold. The Khan was also waiting, he wanted to hear about Christ; he requested that on their return that they would bring 100 priests. This piece of art, illustrates the difficulty of the road they traveled. A road many had tried before but had turned back in defeat. The mediums used was plaster, moss, and acrylic paint on a wood canvas.
